When the heavens and earth unite in joy and celebration, there is triumph afoot indeed. This scene, which is still future for us also, involves the triumph of God’s people. It is the triumph of God Himself, of course, because His people cannot triumph without Him and His help.
The cascade of words echo with triumph: “sing!” “joyful!” “established!” “singing!” “comforted!” This is millennial and signals a time of a returning and triumphant Messiah. Before then, however, the work of gathering, as Nephi has reminded us, is our great latter-day responsibility.
